"I’ve been practicing law since 1980, and I founded my law firm in 1985. With more than 40 years experience in diverse practice areas, I have had the opportunity to see the best and worst in human behavior, and it has helped shape what I believe is my advocacy role as a lawyer.
The media stereotypes lawyers in one of two ways: ambulance chasers that only want to make a profit, or slick, materialistic individuals who drive shiny luxury cars and think lunch should be a billable hour. But the truth is always more complex than the stereotype, and what I’ve found is that many outstanding lawyers are simply men and women who want to use the law to hold others accountable for their actions.
What I’ve also learned in more than three decades of active service as a lawyer is that it doesn’t take a big, sprawling firm to produce big results. In fact, I decided to keep my firm small, so that I could provide personalized service to each of my clients, while still bringing the full resources and knowledge I’ve gained to their benefit. So think of us as the small firm that produces big results."
I attended college at Abilene Christian University, and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1976. Like most young people, I didn’t know my calling at that time, so I had a brief but memorable detour pursuing a music career, and realized that was not my ultimate goal. What really interested me, however, was finding ways to help people, which is why I decided to attend Baylor University Law School, and obtained my juris doctorate.
I was a Texas prosecutor from 1980 to 1984 prior to going into private practice in 1985. My firm specialized in general civil litigation in state and federal courts, but I was especially interested in protecting the rights of accident victims in the areas of product liability, auto accidents, truck accidents, and aviation accidents and disasters.
Since then, my firm has continued to fight for the rights of individuals who have been harmed by big corporations and unscrupulous insurance companies. David K. Wilson & Associates is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas, United States District Court for the Eastern District, United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
Our firm has also been granted special permission to take part in specific cases in Oklahoma State District Courts, California Superior Court, Missouri Circuit Court, and Tennessee Circuit Court.
My objective has always been to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. Our firm is small, but we get you big results, and our track record proves it. Whether you just need a free consultation to determine your legal options, or you want to discuss an ongoing case, we would love to talk to you.
